Youth
Activities
Temple Emanuel has an active
youth program for middle and high school aged children. These
activities include religious, social, cultural and recreational
programming, including trips to Disney World, Busch Gardens, ice
skating, horseback riding, educational speakers, leading services and
delivering apple and honey baskets to new members of the community.
The Kadima, grades 6-8, and USY
grade 9-12, chapters are part of the United Synagogue of Conservative
Judaism. Often youth groups members travel to other cities in Florida
for dances, overnights, concerts or conventions, meeting hundreds of
other Jewish youth.
KADIMA SPRING SCHEDULE 2008
FEBRUARY
10 Make lunch bags for Talbot House. If you need Junior
Honor Society hours, bring your sheet to be signed. Meet at Temple from
12:30 until 2:30p.m. We need volunteers to deliver the lunches after we
make them.
24 Build puppet theatre for Purim. Work on
Posters, Practice puppet show. Meet at Temple from 12:30
until 2:30 p.m. Bring dairy lunch.
MARCH

Bake Hamantashen. Confirmation class will start at 10:00 a.m. Everyone
else can join us when they finish class with the Rabbi. bring dairy
lunch. Finish poster, practice puppet show.
15 Set up for Purim Carnival. Meet at
Temple at Sunset. Plan to stay until job is finished. Bring money
for ice cream.
16 Purim Carnival. We are in charge of
running the games! Meet at Temple by 9:30 for last minute assignments
and preparation.

Horseback riding. Cost $15. Meet at Temple at 12:30 and bring money for
lunch.
29 SPRING BREAK
APRIL
SPRING BREAK IS MARCH 29TH THROUGH APRIL 6TH
11,12,13 Eighth grade Gesher
convention in MIami. The cost will be $300. Let us know if you will need
a scholarship. We have written the Temple for some financial assistance
to help defray the cost. The applications have not been sent out yet.
19 Passover
We are in the process of arranging to work in the soup kitchen in Winter
Haven again. It will probably be the end of May or early June. Also, we
are working on another car wash and playing paintball, so look for
upcoming information!
